Dr. Spiros A. Lazarou, M.D. has ben a practicing Plastic, Craniomaxillofacial & Reconstructive Surgery for over 20 years. Most of that time he has been co-Chief of Plastic Surgery at Ygeia Hospital as well as Chief of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery. He is also Chief of Pediatric Plastic and Cranomaxillofacial Surgery at Iaso Obstetrics & Gynecology as well as Iaso Children’s Hospital and a consultant in Pediatric Plastic & Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at Mitera and Lito Maternity Hospitals. 

He received his B.A. degree with honors from The Johns Hopkins University in 1981 and earned his M.D. from the University of Maryland in 1985. Subsequently he trained in General Surgery at Sinai Hospital and Johns Hopkins. This was followed by a 3 year fellowship in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at a "top 10" program in Norfolk and a Craniomaxillofacial fellowship in the number one ranked Plastic Surgery Department in the United States, the University of Pittsburgh.

He has published chapters in textbooks, research papers as well as innovations in plastic surgery. Most recently he published a significant new discovery in the treatment of cleft lips and palates.

Today Dr. Lazarou concentrates his care in the field of aesthetic surgery, craniomaxillofacial trauma, congenital deformities such as upper eyelid ptosis, cleft lip and palate and craniosynostosis, pediatric plastic surgery such as syndactily and congenital melanocytic nevi as well as reconstruction of complex deformities such as mastectomy defects.  He is also a part of an outstanding team of surgeons that make up the core of the American Craniofacial Associates (acfa.gr) who along with an equally outstanding group of specialists including ENT, Speech Pathologists, Orthodontists, Prosthodontists and Pediatric Radiologist serve t oprovide complete care for complex Craniomaxillofacial deformities in children.
